• Randy Wayne White, one of the most successful of our local authors, creator of the New York Times best-selling Doc Ford series of mysteries. Also has written a number of essay collections about his outdoor adventures.
  • Charles Sobczak, local Realtor and angler cum writer. Wrote the very popular Six Mornings on Sanibel, followed up by a couple more novels, a collection of essays, a non-fiction book about alligators, sharks and panthers, and a guide book that has quickly become a classic: Living Sanibel.
  • Christine Lemmon, beautiful writer of Sanibel Scribbles and Portion of the Sea. She is hard at work on book number five.
  • Kathy Lee Sumner, one of the newer authors on the local scene, has written Captiva Island, a semi-finalist in the national Breakthrough Novel Award.
  • Robert Macomber, a maritime expert who has fashioned a series of award-winning novels about a U.S. Navy Lieutenant in the late 19th century.
  • Bob Sabatino, Long-time fishing guide on Sanibel and Captiva. His memoir, Every Day is Saturday takes a humorous look at his life and times on the islands from his arrival in the 1950s to today.
  • Charles LeBuff, Historian and naturalist, long-time resident of the Sanibel Lighthouse. Charles offers a unique perspective in his books. Stop in on Sundays at MacIntosh. He’s usually there and happy to chat.
